The name of the event – The Can-Am Showcase – reflects the event's inclusion of elite players from both the United States and Canada, particularly the lacrosse hotbed of Southern Ontario. All players will be divided into teams, each coached by a DI college coach, and will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the college recruiters in attendance.
Brett M. Manney
Director of Showcase Lacrosse
Brett is a defenseman and assistant captain of the New England Black Wolves, and also has played professionally outdoors for the Philadelphia Wings, Rochester Rattlers and the Chesapeake Bayhawks of the MLL. Manney is a 2008 graduate of the University of Delaware where he served as team captain his Senior year and helped the legendary 2007 Blue Hen men’s squad reach the NCAA final four. For his off-field contributions to the school and community, Brett was awarded the school’s Outstanding Male Athlete Contributor. Brett is also a Bucks County native and was a standout three-sport athlete at Holy Ghost Prep. A trailblazer, he was one the very first NCAA division one lacrosse recruits to emerge from Lower Bucks County.
Aside from his lacrosse credentials, Brett is an accomplished journalist. He currently serves as a television broadcaster for the Ohio Machine of the MLL, and also has worked extensively for ESPNHS as a writer and lacrosse talent evaluator. As Vice President of Sales & Recruiting at NXTsports, Manney uses his lacrosse and journalism backgrounds to plan and implement Showcase Lacrosse events, company media relations, marketing and communications strategies. Brett also continues to serve as a highly popular member of the NXT Lacrosse Club coaching staff.

Teams are guaranteed 3 games. Games will be 55-minutes long, consisting of 25-minute running halves and a 2-minute half-time. All games are officiated by top certified officials under NCAA rules. A Select Game evaluator is present as a Field Coordinator at each field, insuring fair assessment for each participant.
A player's application will be considered complete once it includes BOTH a coach nomination and player application. Either a coach or player can initiate the process. Respective party will receive an e-mail invitation to complete the application once it has been started. Received applications and nominations will be available in My Dashboard once you are logged-in.
Showcase Lacrosse designates time at every event to provide an education component. Each Showcase will kick off on Friday night with a Pre-Event check in, followed by an informational session led by a Division I coach on the college recruiting process and the demands of being a college lacrosse player. All individual teams will be coached by a Division I coach.

All games at the Can-Am Showcase will be professionally filmed in HD by Next Level Video and a complete video is available to all participants.
Select Game Participants Announced
The highly-coveted roster spots for the Select Game are announced. Selections are based on the Showcase's committee representatives' opinions and evaluations.
Selection lists are printed and emailed to college coaches. All players hold a place in Showcase's web archival for future reference.
Players not selected to the Select Game are welcome to attend a recruiting seminar led by University of Hartford head coach Peter Lawrence. The seminar is held in the Fieldhouse.
All players chosen to the Select Game play in one 45-minute game that features the best of the best players that North America has to offer. Select Games have traditionally been the source of many success stories. The Select Game is the headline event for college coaches seeking top talent.
