The Boys Philly Showcase, now in its ninth year, is widely considered to be North America's premier recruiting event. This is a two-part event that features an individual player Showcase on Saturday and an elite high school and club team competition on Sunday. All players in the Saturday event are divided up and placed on teams coached by established coaches from some of the top high school programs in the area.

Event Highlights

Game Day

Teams are guaranteed 3 games.  Games will be 55-minutes long, consisting of 25-minute running halves and a 2-minute half-time.  All games are officiated by top certified officials under NCAA rules. An All-Star evaluator is present as a Field Coordinator at each field, insuring fair assessment for each participant.

Application Process

A player's application will be considered complete once it includes BOTH a coach nomination and player application. Either a coach or player can initiate the process. Respective party will receive an e-mail invitation to complete the application once it has been started. Received applications and nominations will be available in My Dashboard once you are logged-in.

Education

Education

Showcase Lacrosse designates time at every event to provide an education component. Each Showcase will kick off on Friday night with a Pre-Event check in, followed by an informational session on the college recruiting process and the demands of being a college lacrosse player. Last year, reigning National Champion Coach Bill Tierney spoke at the Boys Philly Showcase and Philly Freshman Showcase.

The premier high school boys lacrosse recruiting event attracts the top talent, and the top coaches. More than 205 DI, DII, and DIII coaches attended the Boys Philly Showcase Weekend in 2016.

All games at the Boys Philly Showcase will be professionally filmed in HD by Next Level Video and a complete video is available to all participants.

Individual

Registration & Check-in

Players will arrive to prepare for the day of competition.  Upon checking in at Showcase Headquarters, athletes will receive:

  • Nike reversible
  • Showcase gear pack
  • Headshot photo

Players are slotted into 24 teams and coached by esteemed high school coaches.

Practice / Warm-up

All teams will be provided with 30 minutes of practice and warmup time to become familiar with teammates and prepare for competition.

  • Teams 1-20 will warm-up at 8:30 a.m.
  • Teams 21-24 will warm-up at 9 a.m. 

Games Begin

All teams will play three 55-minute games.  Exact schedule will vary based on start time. Generally, teams will have a one-game break between each game.

  • 9 a.m. - First round of games
  • 9:50 a.m. - Second round of games
  • 10:40 a.m. - Third round of games
  • 11:30 p.m. - Fourth round of games
  • 12:20 p.m. - Fifth round of games
  • 1:10 p.m. - Sixth round of games

King of the X Challenge

Players are broken into equal pods.  Faceoff competitions are bracketed to determine pod winners, a final four, and the eventual King of the X.  More than 200 college coaches watched over 50 faceoff players compete in 2015 in which Liam Fitzgerald (Laxachusetts, Hun School) captured the crown.

Fab 40 All-Stars Announced

The highly coveted group of Fab 40 All-Stars will be announced at a prime location.  Selections are based on Showcase's All-Star committee representatives.

The 2018 Fab 40 All-Star game will take place first, followed by the 2019 Fab 40 All-Star Game.

Fab 40 All-Star Game

All players selected to the Fab 40 All-Star group will play in one 45-minute game amongst the best of the best players in North America.  Historically, Fab 40 All-Star games have been the source of many success stories.  The Fab 40 All-Start game is the headline event for college coaches seeking top talent.

Fab 40 All-Star selection lists will be printed and e-mailed to college coaches.  All players will hold a place in Showcase's web archival for future reference.

Gates open at 8 a.m.

Club directors will report to tournament headquarters to confirm their team's arrival and receive event credentials.
