Kate Henwood joined the NXT team in June of 2015 as the Director of Girls Lacrosse. In her initial season at UC-Davis, she led the Aggies to an upset of nationally-ranked rival Stanford. Her Garnet Valley tenure produced multiple All-Americans, brought the school its first two state titles and laid the foundation for what has become Pennsylvania’s premier program. Prior to taking over at Garnet Valley, Henwood was the top assistant and defensive coordinator at Villanova University. She also served as a middle school and high school social studies teacher for 7 years in the Rose Tree Media ('06-'07) and Garnet Valley ('07-'12) School Districts. In 2014, she guided a stingy defensive group, helped the team defeat conference rival California for the first time since 2001, and helped mentor UC Davis to its first 5-0 start in history. The defense decreased its goals-against average by four goals per game in her three-year stint with the team. In addition, due to Kammes' efforts in the realm of academic support, the Aggies posted the highest GPA in program history in 2015. Kammes previously served as Henwood's defensive coordinator at Garnet Valley High School during that program's 2011 and 2012 PIAA State Championship seasons. She ran the team's strength and conditioning program, both during and out of season. During her tenure with the Jaguars, Kammes' athletes garnered four All-America awards and three US Lacrosse All-Academic honors. Kammes grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago before venturing to Philadelphia for college at the University of Pennsylvania in 2001. She was a four-year letterwinner and a starting point guard for Penn's women's basketball team, helping the Quakers captured the 2004 Ivy League championship. After college, Kammes held coaching tenures at both American University (2005-07) and at her alma mater (2007-08). In 2009, she earned her degree in nursing from Drexel University's esteemed ACE program.
